AB’s always talking about equipment on Good Eats. Where to get them, what not to get, wattage, etc., etc. Does anyone know if there is an episode where he talks about his stand mixer or stand mixers general?
I put a stand mixer on layaway at Sears. They gave me scheduled payment dates and those end in September. I don’t need that long though and should be able to have it paid in a couple of weeks. Can I make payments before the dates or do I have to pay every 2 weeks like they ask?
I am looking for an appliance that’s best way to make simple dough (non-yeast). I see that some food processors have a dough blade and some stand mixers have a dough hook.
I really need some advice on which is the best appliance for kneading simple dough. Thanks in advance!
Great suggestions. Seems that the food processor and stand mixer are more or less comparable. I would probably get more use out of a food processor, so it seems this may be the way to go. Any suggestions on brands and models would be appreciated as well. Thanks again! Very helpful.
Brownies
Recipe by Our Best Bites
Brownies:
4 squares unsweetened baking chocolate (4oz)
1 C butter (2 sticks)
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 C flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9×13 inch pan with foil making sure the foil extends over the edges by at least one inch. Lightly spray with non-stick spray and set aside.
Chop both unsweetened chocolate and two sticks of butter into chunks and place together in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until just melted and smooth. Set aside to cool, stirring occasionally.
With an electric mixer or stand mixer beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla for 2 minutes. While egg mixture is beating, measure out flour and combine with baking powder. While mixer is running, slowly add melted chocolate and beat to combine. Turn beater speed to low and add in flour by spoonfuls. Mix just until combined. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20-30 minutes or until a knife poked in center comes out clean.
I purchased a stand mixer from Kohl’s.com. they estimated my arrival to be the 26-29. However, I was wondering if this is not always accurate, I want this package as soon as possible because I have a week off for work vacation. Like amazon.com always states days that are later and the shipment arrives earlier.
So, please answer if you have bought from Kohl’s and it arrived early then they stated. Thanks!
